About the event
Looking to take your practice to the next level?
Whether you're a beginner or an experienced practitioner, this 3-part workshop series is designed to help you build strength, improve your balance, and refine your technique. Each workshop will cover different aspects of handstands, from building a strong foundation to advanced variations. You'll leave each workshop with a deeper understanding of the handstand and new tools to help you progress in your practice.

Session 1: Sunday June 4th, 2023 3-430pm
Fundamentals
In our first session, we'll focus on building a strong foundation.
Introduction to handstands: benefits, safety considerations, and common mistakes Warm-up exercises for wrists, shoulders, hips + hamstrings Proper alignment and technique for basic handstand Drills and progressions to build strength and endurance Cool down, stretch + recovery
Session 2: Sunday June 11th, 2023 3-430pm
Balance + Control
In our second session, we'll improve your balance and control in the handstand.
Recap of proper alignment and technique for basic handstand Warm-up exercises Drills and progressions to improve balance and control: L- shape handstands, handstand hops, and kick-ups Tips and tricks for finding balance and staying upside down Cool down, stretch + recovery
Session 3: Sunday June 18th, 2023 3-430pm
Progressions
In our final session, we will delve into applications of different drills you have learned throughout the series.
Warm-up exercises Review of proper alignment and technique Drills and progressions for advanced handstand variations: tuck jumps, straddle hops, wall free handstand Tips and tricks for refining your technique and taking your handstand practice to the next level: body alignment, strength, and flexibility Cool down, stretches + recovery
All handstand levels are welcome. Note that participants should have a basic level of yoga or fitness experience and have no contraindications for inversions.
