About the event

Support for the Support, Living with Cancer- Yoga and Yoga Nidra Series

This is a four-part yoga series once a week for four weeks. 90 minutes for each session. These classes will be a combination of yoga and yoga nidra to assist you during a time when you are taking care of someone with cancer or have lost your loved one to cancer. This setting is for someone who feels like they need to decompress, take care of themselves, and have someone hold space for them during this difficult time. Learn simple tools to take into your everyday life. Space is limited to 15 people, pre-registration is required.

About your host, Kendra, and more about the workshop: I am a certified yoga instructor in the Kripalu yoga tradition. Yoga and yoga nidra have been tools that have helped me through very challenging times in my life. There have also been times when I felt like yoga and yoga nidra weren't helping me at all, yet I was still drawn back to the practice. My mom lived with cancer for eight years before she passed away. 8 years of love, hardship, ups and downs. Many times, I felt like I needed someone to hold space for me because I couldn’t do it for myself. There were many times when I used my practice of yoga and yoga nidra to calm myself and “fill up my cup”. I wanted to create this series for anyone going through a time when they are supporting a loved one with cancer. Or for someone who has lost their loved one to cancer. This workshop is designed to use yoga and yoga nidra to give you a break, take some time for yourself, breathe, and maybe find a little calm.  And if not that, it could be a space you can go to just to be around people in a similar situation.

What to wear: Workout clothes/clothes to move in. Layers, as body temperature usually drops during yoga nidra.

Price: $30 per class or $100 for all 4 classes (no yoga experience required)
